The Project
According to the Istanbul Airport Master Plan, in addition to Terminal 1, another Terminal (2) building and the associated takeoff/landing and parking runways have commenced. The priority task is to open the East-West runway. This runway, extending in the east-west direction, cuts off all connections with Terminal 2 located to the north and the airport entrance on the southern side. Therefore, before it becomes operational, the plan is to connect both vehicle and passenger access, as well as necessary infrastructure lines, to Terminal 2 through tunnels beneath the runway.
