Healing architecture developed in close collaboration with client and users
Glasblokkene in Bergen is a major university hospital project bringing together care for children, young people, and women in a single, coherent environment. KHR Architecture has played a central role in the design, working closely with the client and project partners to shape both the overall architecture and the interior environments.
The buildings are organised to support complex clinical workflows while also creating spaces that feel calm, safe, and welcoming for patients, relatives, and staff. Daylight, views, and access to outdoor areas are integral to the design, helping to connect treatment with everyday life. The project has received Bergen’s Architecture and Urban Design Award and was nominated for the prestigious EU Mies van der Rohe Award. Find out more at khr.dk.
