The Project

The Bugesera International Airport project in Rwanda involved comprehensive master planning, financial modeling, and technical services for the development of a new greenfield airport. The scope included site assessment, market analysis, strategic planning, and the concept and preliminary design of key airport infrastructure, including a passenger terminal with an initial capacity of 5 million passengers per year (MAP), expandable to 10 MAP, a general aviation terminal, cargo terminal, presidential terminal, ATC tower, and GSE facilities.

The design focused on creating efficient processing flows for passengers, baggage, goods, and waste while ensuring functional integration across all facilities. Emphasis was placed on developing architectural, structural, and MEP concepts, along with detailed cost estimations and technical specifications to guarantee the project’s financial and operational viability. As a modern aviation hub, Bugesera Airport is positioned to support Rwanda’s growing air traffic and economic development.
